This one is for the girls. I take great pleasure in seeing my wife enjoy arts, crafts, keeping the home, and helping out in the community. She has done training in veterinary nursing, and in floral and horticultural work, but as her personal preference, she is currently keeping home for our four children.
I personally have employees as part of my business. And as part of the "business" of keeping the family together our roles as husband and wife are based on the breadwinning, and the homekeeping. Not that I don't do my fair share of household chores as part of the family. I love it when she takes delight in making a quilt, or keeping the home chores done. I've never done a quilt, I'm just not interested in it. But I love seeing what she has so lovingly put together for the family and as presents for friends.
When she has time, she helps in my business writing articles given that she enjoys creative writing. I get a buzz out of reading the creative pieces she puts together.
There will come a time that she has less of household and family based chores as the children grow up. Who knows what she will then do. She is interested in doing a counselling diploma...
There is a time for reaping and a time for sewing (and sowing). A time for everyone to do as God has uniquely gifted them to do. I delight in seeing how the gender differences give a slant on the types of things that each of us enjoy doing.
My challenge to you is this - find what gives you a buzz. God has given us each unique talents. Life is to be enjoyed and is to be used in serving others and giving of ourselves.
